
Quickly uninstall chromebook extensions and applications
Our guide on how to uninstall extensions or apps from your Chromebook. The guide is straightforward and we have included some photos and even a video for those of you who are more visual like myself.
Since Chromebooks run on the underrated ChromeOS, uninstalling unwanted apps and extensions is a bit different from what most of you are used to on your Windows or macOS, anyway, below you will see what I mean.

Steps to uninstall Chrome extension
- Open Chrome browser.
- Select More More tools, then Extensions.
- Next to the extension you want to remove, select Remove.
- To confirm, select Remove.
NOTE: To remove an extension that’s a button on the browser toolbar, right-click the button and select Remove from Chrome.
Steps to temporarily disable an extension
To temporarily stop using an extension:
- Open Chrome browser.
- Select More More tools then Extensions.
- Turn off the extension you want to disable.
Steps to uninstall an app
- In the corner of your screen, select the Launcher then Up arrow
- Then, right-click the app you want to remove.
Quick shortcut: On your keyboard, press Shift + Search + Increase volume. Or you can press Shift + Launcher + Increase Volume.
- Select Uninstall or Remove from Chrome.
- Select Remove.
