How to Install and Use Android Apps on Your Chromebook
Hello everyone, on this page you will read our step-by-step guide on running Android apps and games on your Chromebook. The good thing about Chromebooks besides the cheaper price and durability is their ability to run apps from the Google Play Store. If you Chromebook was made in 2017 or newer, there is a 95% chance that it can run Android apps and games without a problem. It is also a big bonus if your Chromebook has a touchscreen enabled screen because most Android apps are of course made specifically for tablets and phones which both use touchscreen to navigate. Update Your ChromeOS
- Before proceeding, ensure that you’re running the latest version of Chrome OS.
- To do this, open your app launcher and click on ‘Settings’.
- Navigate to ‘About Chrome OS’.
- Click on ‘Check for Update’. If there’s a newer version available, it will automatically download and install.

Enable Google Play Store Support
- Once you’ve updated Chrome OS, navigate to the ‘App’ option in settings.
- Look for ‘Google Play Store Support’.
- If you’ve not enabled it before, you will find the ‘Turn On’ option. Click on it to enable Google Play Store on your Chromebook. (Note: If it’s already enabled, you might see a ‘Remove’ button instead.)

Accessing and Using Google Play Store
- Now, you can access Google Play Store just like you would on an Android device.
- Search for ‘Google Play Store’ in your Chromebook’s search option.
- Open the Play Store and log in with your Google account.
- Browse and install applications just as you would on an Android smartphone. For example, to install the ‘Hill Climb Racing’ game, simply select the game and click the ‘Install’ button.

Managing Your Android Apps
- To view and manage the Android applications you’ve installed:
- Open ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Apps’.
- Select ‘Manage Your Apps’.
- This section will list all Android applications installed on your Chromebook.
- If you wish to uninstall any application, select it, and you’ll find an ‘Uninstall’ button.
- From here, you can also manage app notifications and permissions.

- The app will open and you can start using it.
